Never trash another broken eyeshadow again! My fave trick for saving makeup mishaps

Have you ever dropped your favourite eyeshadow or highlighter and thought *oh F**K*? … Of course you have, because we all have, right? Let me show you the MAC girl method for fixing your broken product and making it as good as new!

You will need:

  • -70% isopropyl alcohol
  • -Paper towel/fabric/ribbon to create texture
  • -Spatula
  • -Sanitized quarter/coin

Pour alcohol into the broken shadow very slowly and carefully

Gently mix the alcohol and the shadow pigment, getting rid of any lumps. Mix thoroughly, you want to get a smooth & even consistency because you will be repressing this product.

Use a tissue or piece of paper towel to absorb the extra alcohol from the top of the mixture. Carefully peel the tissue off the top of the product.

Using a folded piece of paper towel to absorb alcohol and create a barrier, press the sanitized quarter into the shadow mixture. Press as hard as you can; this is where you are re-forming the eyeshadow so if it isn’t firm enough, it will break up when you try to use it. Again, be careful removing the paper towel.

You may need to repeat the pressing with a fresh piece of paper towel until the shadow is flat and firm. Use a tissue and q-tip soaked with alcohol to clean off the edges of the shadow.

Let shadow dry overnight and then you are all set to get back to the glam!

Have you tried this method? Did it work for you? Let me know in the comments! 😀
