Being a full time retail cosmetic manager lets me live my dream every day but I don’t get to spend as much time working with makeup as I used to. I wasn’t always a makeup expert…
I’m from a tiny fishing village in Northern Cape Breton, so I grew up with very limited access to cosmetic shopping or education. I worked for my family fishing lobster & crab after finishing high school in order to pay for my makeup & business education.
Today I introduce products & techniques to people in a way that I would have understood, before I became a professional makeup artist.
I’m extremely lucky to call makeup my full time career today 💄
I was drawn to the world of makeup after being torn between attending school for fashion design or makeup artistry. In the end I chose makeup artistry and taught myself how to sew and design patterns. Fashion collection some day? Who knows!
I became a licensed makeup artist in 2008 and have worked for brands like Dior, Lancôme, and of course my ride-or-die since day one brand, MAC Cosmetics. I have forever been and will forever be, a MAC girl.
